Workplace sex is fun
How many of you have had love relationships with colleagues at work? How many of you made it from a simple flirt to passionate embraces on the photocopier? And how many have gone as far as to make their affair official by marrying each other? A survey carried out by the now defunct NewWoman website provides some enlightening answers.

A few years back, a British website conducted a survey on love in the workplace. Results were astonishing: 82% of women admitted to flirting with male colleagues they found good-looking and 61% of them went so far as to indulge in sexual intercourse. Some 65% of these women said they had absolutely no regrets about mixing work and romance.
Sexual energy at work works wonders for women
It should be emphasized that the following figures only apply to the British female participants who accepted to respond the “Sex in the Office” questionnaire developed by the NewWoman website. Unfortunately, our enquiries as to the sampling of responses, the number of participants and the period during which the survey was performed have remained unanswered. Therefore, the percentages mentioned in this article should be viewed as elements brought to the debate rather than an objective reflection of this phenomenon.
According to the survey, 82% of women make eyes at colleagues they find attractive. The proportion of women who think that a little bit of seduction in the workplace benefits their health and self-confidence is even greater.
Of all the women surveyed, 61% confessed they had made love with colleagues before, 51% of whom were superiors. For 28% of participants, the sexual relationships occurred directly in the workplace with a marked preference for his office. Such sexual romp once made front-page news when it involved a U.S. president: the Clinton/Lewinski case almost cost Mr Clinton his presidency. Similarly, former French president Félix Faure died in his mistress’s arms in 1899, and everyday seems to bring us a new high-flying boss/colleague sex scandal.
Here is some great news for those who have crossed that line: 65% of women admit to having no regrets whatsoever about their actions. The most conscientious will be glad to learn that six out of ten women declared that their love story hadn’t affected their work relationships.
A quarter of participants reported finding their bosses good-looking. 22% of them said they had already had sex with him and 15% boasted that he was so spellbound that they got married. A venal 20% said they wouldn’t mind having sex if it meant being promoted. Needless to say, these figures should be taken with a pinch of salt.
And what do men think about sex at the workplace?
A survey designed for the French version of women’s magazine Marie-Claire provided some insight into men’s sexual practices and fantasies. 53% of all 480 male participants envisioned making love out in the open as their wildest fantasy. Love in the workplace came in second, with 22% of respondents describing it as their ultimate fantasy.
