The Missionary
The missionary position is the most commonly-used sex position and because of this, it has a reputation for being dull and boring. But many couples find it comforting and extremely stimulating. They might adopt this position at the start of their lovemaking or just before reaching orgasm.

In this position the lovers are face to face, the woman lying on her back and the man above her. The man lies on his partner but is careful not to transfer all his weight onto her.
Instead, he leans on his knees and elbows, to avoid crushing her. The man normally positions his legs between those of the woman, which are slightly bent. To increase clitoral stimulation during intercourse, the woman should try to maximize the contact between her clitoris (or the clitoral region) and her partner's pubic bone. To do this, she may need to bend her knees more, or bring them in towards her shoulders, and then place them on the man's shoulders. Alternatively, she can wrap her legs around the man's torso, linking her feet behind his back.
Some women like to use a cushion below their lower back; others may need to stimulate the clitoris manually, sliding their hand between the man's body and their own. Each couple will need to find their own solution, depending on the size and shape of their genitals. But it's always good to change positions and vary the sensations.
The man can achieve penetration by simply thrusting, or one of the lovers can guide the penis into the vagina. In this position, it can be difficult for the woman to move her pelvis as it is crushed under the weight of her lover; although the couple can exchange kisses they can only kiss each other's face, neck or shoulders; and the man is unable to caress the woman. He can, however do so if he supports himself on one arm but this can quickly become uncomfortable. Excess weight, joint problems, or pregnancy can all make this position difficult. If this is the case, you'll just have to find another, more comfortable position.
However, there are many great things about the missionary position: the man and woman are face to face; they can kiss and even embrace, enjoying lots of skin-to-skin contact; and the man can freely move his hips and pelvis.
