The Entwined vines

There are many possible variations on the Entwined vines position, where the lovers lie on their sides, facing each other.

The man and woman may embrace, clasping each other tightly and caressing each other’s backs and buttocks while exchanging kisses. Or they may move slightly apart, stroking and kissing each other’s chest and breasts.

They may keep their legs outstretched which results in a more shallow penetration.  However, the woman can also stimulate her clitoris and labia, by squeezing her thighs together, and use the movements of her pelvis to further intensify these sensations.

Some women however, prefer to bend their legs, wrapping their thighs around their partner with one leg under him and the other over.  Penetration feels somewhat different in this position: the penis presses against other parts of the vaginal wall, producing distinct sensations.

Alternatively, the man can raise his legs to form a right angle while the woman straightens one of her legs, placing it between those of her lover, wrapping the other around his waist.  In this position, the lovers resemble the Entwined vine. Lying thus, the lovers both envelop and are enveloped, like the tendrils of a vine, reinforcing the impression of intimacy and union.

It is not envisaged that all the Kama Sutra positions will lead to orgasm for either partner.  Rather they allow the lovers to enjoy lengthy embraces and a variety of kisses and caresses as their bodies move in harmony.

The Entwined vines is a comfortable position for the lovers; they have time to play with their desire and to satisfy their appetite for one another. They take their time, savouring the gentle, rhythmic sensations of each movement. When they are both sufficiently aroused, they can then change position, and the initial long, loving, slow build-up results in a deep and intense orgasm.
